1. Resisted middle finger extension might indicate the involvement of Extensor Digitorum also. 2. The extensor digitorum indicis and extensor digititorum communis are within the 4th compartment. 3. The artery then descends between the tibialis anterior and extensor digitorum longus muscles. 4. The extensor hallucis brevis is essentially the medial part of the extensor digitorum brevis muscle. 5. In the fingers, the extensor digitorum acts principally on the proximal phalanges, acting to extend the metacarpophalangeal joint. 6. They are inserted into the bases of the proximal phalanges and into the extensor expansion of the corresponding extensor digitorum tendon. 7. It is known that the extensor indicis proprius inserts to the index finger on the ulnar side of the extensor digitorum . 8.
