1. In 1882 an engine shed, fitting shop and smithy were erected. 2. The ground floor of the building became a tyre sales and fitting shop . 3. An electrical fitting shop replaced the copper shop. 4. The forge, smithy, joinery and fitting shops were powered by a steam engine. 5. Frederick secured a position for Alfred in 1875 as the foreman of the fitting shop . 6. Upstairs there was a light machine shop, fitting shop , parts store and pattern maker's shop. 7. A vertical boiler by A . Overend & Co survives at the southern end of the fitting shop area. 8. The conserved Engine House features a working boiler house, fitting shop and a unique collection of five stationary steam engines. 9. The fitting shop was designed to manufacture 40 locomotives a year and a total of 300 were produced in the next eight years. 10. There are six workshops viz ., Machine Shop, Forging Shop, Fitting Shop , Foundry Shop, Woodwork Shop, Electrical Shop and Electronics Shop.
