11. The Basketmakers 'Kiosk however was saved. 12. Basketmaker III people established a tradition of holding large ceremonial gatherings near community pit structures.13. Several clusters of Basketmaker III sites have been identified in the vicinity of Chetro Ketl. 14. Some of their glass bowls and vessels are made in shapes originally developed by Indian basketmakers . 15. These included the Shore Kiosk, Pearl Kiosk, Marble Kiosk and the Basketmakers 'Kiosk. 16. Earlier residents include Basketmakers from 200-450 and during the second Pueblo period 900 1150. 17. They also had temporary campsites in the mountains, low mesas and Basketmaker pit-houses. 18. Starting during the Basketmaker III period,, Mesa Verdeans often buried their dead in these mounds. 19. Humans didn't settle permanently in the area until the Basketmaker III Era, somewhere around AD 500. 20. Annie Miner Peterson was an accomplished basketmaker , storyteller, and repository of indigenous Coos languages and traditional culture.
