11. In any case, an ophthalmologist and possibly a neurologist should be consulted when diplopia occurs. 12. Diplopia could be monocular or binocular.13. Binocular diplopia however may be due to ocular misalignment or unequal image perception between two eyes. 14. A 19 year old female patient came to our clinic with chief complain of intermittent diplopia . 15. Her diplopia problem was totally eliminated. 16. An 18 year old male came to our clinic with a chief complain of diplopia at distance. 17. The diplopia was eliminated with and patient had improved positive and negative fusional vergence with decentered glasses. 18. Damage to the trochlear nerve ( IV ) can also cause diplopia with the eye adducted and elevated. 19. However, the patient should be warned about the possibility of uncrossed diplopia at distance fixation after surgery. 20. Note that patients with gaze palsy still have conjugate eye movements and therefore do not complain of diplopia .
