11. On 6 July, she completed her final line period of the deployment and left the Gulf of Tonkin. 12. That first line period lasted until 17 September when she got underway for a port visit to Kaohsiung, Taiwan. 13. She spent the last five days of this line period plane guarding for " Hancock " ( CVA-19 ). 14. Four days later, she loaded ammunition and got underway for her first line period in the Gulf of Tonkin. 15. The destroyer returned to Yankee Station on 3 March for her third and final line period of this deployment. 16. CVW-11 set numerous records for the Vietnam War, including a 61-day line period , which was the longest for the war. 17. On 7 November, " America " completed her fifth line period and departed for her last visit to Subic Bay. 18.
