11. Lipomas are soft to the touch, usually movable, and are generally painless.12. Translocations involving this gene and HMGA2 on chromosome 12 have been observed in lipomas . 13. Lipomas are normally removed by simple excision.14. The amount of skin lipomas is not related to the severity of the midline clefting. 15. Liposuction is another option if the lipoma is soft and has a small connective tissue component. 16. The presence of multiple lipomas is known as lipomatosis and is more commonly encountered in men. 17. Tumours of the small intestine include gastrointestinal stromal tumours, lipomas , hamartomas and carcinoid syndromes. 18. Dr Franco also suggested that she shows signs of having a lipoma behind her right eye. 19. These skin lipomas are benign, and are therefore more a cosmetic problem than a functional problem. 20. Usually, treatment of a lipoma is not necessary, unless the tumor becomes painful or restricts movement.
