11. Brown's Folly is situated on steep west-facing slopes which overlook the oolitic limestone strata of Jurassic age. 12. Their new subdivision was named Elmira, and oolitic limestone gates announced the entrance to the new community. 13. The fine grained oolitic limestone that is quarried from this site is covered by a layer of Mitchell limestone in some places. 19. The plateau is formed from the Greater Oolitic Limestone with formations including Forest Marble, Bath Oolite, Twinhoe Beds and Combe Down Oolite. 20. The limestone is a fine grained oolitic limestone formed in shallow water lagoons in the Bathonian Age about 167 million years ago.
