11. In 1896 he was appointed president of the Volksraad . 12. Together with Ohrig Smellekamp visited Pietermaritzburg to meet with the Volksraad of Natalia. 13. He was also member of " Volksraad " of East Indies. 14. The Volksraad declared war on the Pedi leader, Sekhukhune on 16 May 1876. 15.
