21. The blacksmiths shop is a long rectangular building constructed of coursed rubble sandstone bocks laid straight on the ground. 22. It is built in an L-plan with coursed rubble walls of coal measures sandstone and a stone slated roof. 23. The west wing's foundation is coursed ashlar on the south elevation, and coursed rubble on the other two. 24. It has ashlar and coursed rubble walls of coal measures sandstone, with graduated slate and lead roof coverings and an octagonal spire. 25. St Cuthbert's is constructed in roughly coursed rubble . which replaced an earlier two-manual organ by Summers and Barnes. 26. It was built in 1894, and is a two-story brick structure with a coursed rubble foundation and a flat roof. 27. The construction is similar to that of the blacksmith's shop with coursed rubble walls and a hipped roof sheeted with corrugated iron. 28. The eastern wall has a coursed rubble face with an arched doorway in the south " east corner, and the north wall has boarded doors. 29. Photographs show this to have been built of coursed rubble stone, and the stucco on the house was probably removed when this addition was made. 30. It is built in a Palladian style with six bays built over three floors ( including basement ) made of course rubble with fine limestone dressings.
