21. The lava flows are layered, separated by a thin layer of lapilli tuff and reddened breccia. 22. The summit is formed from the tuff, lapilli -tuff and breccia of the Lingmell Formation. 23. The cone shaped deposits are fairly uniform and consist primarily of tuff in lapilli -size particles. 24. These scoria cones are formed by lapilli and pyroclastics with no welding and also contain lava bombs. 25. Several small shield volcanoes, and postglacial lapilli cones and lava flows have been reported in this area. 26. Between the individual lava flows may be beds of lapilli -tuff resulting from a more explosive eruption. 27. The white matrix found between lapilli contains alkalifeldspath, hematite, hisingerite, montmorillonite, saponite and silica. 28. The Big Scott Mountain formation consists of rhyolite of variable composition, lapilli -tuff, and crystal tuff. 29. This is followed by fallout of accretionary lapilli , which is the result of particle agglomeration within the column. 30. The immediate area was completely buried by thick layers of pyroclastic fragments, volcanic blocks, lapilli and ash.
