21. The churchyard is mainly neutral grassland , but some is calcareous, and its grasses and flowers are diverse. 22. This site is an example of unimproved, herb-rich neutral grassland of a type now rare in Britain. 23. This site consists of a nationally rare type of neutral grassland together with adjoining areas of scrub and ancient woodland. 24. Most of the site is covered by free-draining, sandy soils, on which neutral grassland has developed. 25. Habitats are open water, marginal mud, inland saltmarsh, willow carr, neutral grassland , scrub and woodland. 26. The neutral grassland supports betony, lousewort, devil's-bit scabious and lady's-mantle. 27. The farm house is 18th century and the surrounding land includes neutral grassland , wildflower meadows and woodlands with splendid views. 28. Most of it is neutral grassland with many grass and herb species, and there are small areas of acidic grassland. 29. A range of neutral grassland types supporting common and scarce plants has developed mainly due to variations in soils and management practices. 30. The site is nationally important for its species-rich neutral grassland and the invertebrate community found in the ditches and rhynes.
