31. The drier the argillite becomes, the more danger there is of flaking or cracking during the carving process. 32. The fault separated graphitic phyllite in the east from metasiltstone, argillite , quartz sandstone conglomerate on the west. 33. The two units meet as a saddle between the twin peaks of meta-argillite / phyllite and granite. 34. The North Siberian Lowland is formed by marine and ice-laid deposits, underlaid with sandstones and argillites . 35. Propylite-like degradation as well as veins contained inside of rock that has been heavily degraded to argillite . 36. The beds of puddingstone are complexly interbedded with layers of massive diamictite and laminated and graded argillite and sandstone. 37. To the north, east and south is a complex of Pennsylvanian age argillite , chert, diabase and greywacke. 38. Bourl�mont is mainly composed of red sandstone, but there is also a presence of argillite , quartzite and shale. 39. The Brookline Member of the Roxbury Conglomerate is the classic cobble conglomerate beds interbedded with beds of argillite and sandstone. 40. These very early argillite pieces depict traditional Haida images normally seen on totem poles, masks, rattles and spoon handles.
