31. Pleural effusions are classified as exudative ( high protein ) or transudative ( low protein ).32. People with pleural effusions may show evidence of restriction in lung volumes due to the fluid. 33. This is a frequent occurrence with pleural effusion , caused by congestive heart failure ( CHF ). 34. It is used in pleurodesis ( fusion of the pleura because of incessant pleural effusions ). 35. If there is pleural effusion , palpation should reveal decreased vibration and there will be'stony dullness'on percussion. 36. Other complications which may occur include hemothorax, pleural effusion , pericarditis, wound infection and pneumonia and acquired scoliosis. 37. This causes pulmonary edema and pleural effusions . 38. A pleural effusion may be detected. 39. Pleural effusions can be treated in a similar manner, with repeated thoracentesis, pleurodesis, or placement of a drain.40. This finding indicates possibly but not with certainty, of a pleural effusion , empyema, blood in pleural space ( Hemothorax ).
