31. In the beginning stages of the disease, the bone forms small lesions on the skull and tibiae . 32. Similarly protibia, mesotibia and metatibia refer to the tibiae of the front, middle and hind legs. 33. At the same time, they wave the tibiae and metatarsi in the air, mimicking ant antennae. 34. The Tabaninae lack ocelli ( simple eyes ) and have no spurs on the tips of their hind tibiae . 35. In these groups, the sound-detecting tympanal organs are located on the tibiae of the front legs. 36. It was named by Joseph Leidy in 1865 for two tibiae found in the Navesink Formation of New Jersey. 37. The tibiae of the front legs bear one or more tympani which are used for the reception of sound. 38. Head, pronotum, elytra, femora and tibiae are bright red and elytra bear several rows of dots. 39. The underside of the thorax and abdomen are dark brown with a grey flush and the tibiae is orange. 40. The main sign is anterior bowing and posterior cortical thickening of the diaphyses of both the tibiae and fibulae.
