41. During World War II, Stewart served with the Women's Auxiliary Air Force ( WAAF ) at locations around the country. 42. After attending Cambridge University, he was mobilised as part of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force on the outbreak of war. 43. However 12 squadrons of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force used the variant and continued to do so until March 1951. 44. The GDF-002 guns were later refurbished by BMARC and used to form a Royal Auxiliary Air Force squadron at RAF Waddington. 45. After the war he transferred to the Royal Auxiliary Air Force as a flight lieutenant and relinquished his commission in 1958. 46. He was appointed Honorary Air Commodore of No 4624 Squadron of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force , based at RAF Brize Norton. 47. He joined the Auxiliary Air Force in 1936, and was a trained fighter pilot at start of the Second World War. 48. He has also worked as a boatbuilder, and has served with the Royal Auxiliary Air Force and Royal Naval Auxiliary Service. 49. The aircraft freed up were used two equip two Special Reserve and Auxiliary Air Force squadrons, these remaining in service until 1929. 50. Concurrently, he joined the Royal Auxiliary Air Force and became a member of No . 604 ( County of Middlesex ) Squadron.
