41. Both masts have main and top-sails, and battlemented fighting-tops are made from gold. 42. It has two battlemented porches on the south side and an octagonal birdcage bellcote on the west gable. 43. The north porch is richly vaulted within, and is surmounted externally by a panelled and battlemented parapet. 44. The tower is without buttresses, and its battlemented parapet is decorated with a frieze and flushwork panels. 45. On the east corner of the south aisle is a polygonal rood stair turret with a battlemented top. 46. The paired bell openings are round-headed, and the battlemented parapet has crocketed pinnacles at the corners. 47. The tower has a corbelled wall head from which angle broaches slope up to an octagonal battlemented top section. 48. The east wall of the nave is also battlemented and has a cross finial at the apex of its gable. 49. The tower is surmounted by a battlemented parapet above a moulded cornice which projects from the line of the building. 50. The tower is plain up to above roof level, where a number of lancets appear below a shallow battlemented parapet.
