41. On that basis, there should be places where local lakes evaporated to dryness and produced evaporite minerals. 42. The formation is a sequence of dolomite, lacustrine limestones, claystone, evaporites , and fluviatile sandstones. 43. These evaporite minerals are a concentration of weathering products such as sodium carbonate, borax, and other salts. 44. The latter is diverse, including evaporites such as halite and gypsum in addition to its limestones and shales. 45. The red bed sediments of the Red Hills were deposited in an arid continental lacustrine sediments and gypsum evaporites . 46. It occurs in sedimentary marine evaporites and is a major potassium ore mineral in the Carlsbad Deposits of New Mexico. 47. Gypsum, an evaporite mineral, is known for its fragility against freshwater invasion, re-dissolving quite readily. 48. Ulexite is found in evaporite deposits and the precipitated ulexite commonly forms a " cotton ball " tuft of acicular crystals. 49. It occurs as fumarolic incrustations in volcanic environments, as small crystals and masses in evaporite deposits and in guano deposits. 50. Due to evaporite effects, the lake is mineral rich and salty and sodium and potassium salts are extracted from it.
