41. The Mahoenui Group consists of calcareous mudstones, with thinly interbedded sandstones, siltstones, and limestones. 42. The main rock types in the watershed of Grassy Island Creek are sandstone and interbedded sedimentary rocks. 43. Lacustrine mud that is interbedded with salt and saturated with brine underlies the surface of Salar de Uyuni. 44. It is made of bluish-gray shale with interbedded mudstone, fine-grained sandstone and siltstone. 45. The Late Eocene reflects more frequent lateral variations of interbedded limestones, dolomites, marls, and shales. 46. At the top are the interbedded coal seams, carbonaceous shales and mudstones of the Taber coal zone. 47. The name is derived from occasional interbedded anthracite layers that indicate a paralic environment near a shallow sea. 48. Down-ramp, the Pooleville is represented largely by centimeter-thick shales and interbedded lime mudstones. 50.
