41. Kendrick's longboats towed Douglas's ships out of Nootka Sound. 42. On June 8 Funter entered Nootka Sound and found it occupied by Mart�nez. 43. The controversy resulted in the abandonment of the Nootka Sound settlement by the Spanish. 44. In 1789 the war between Britain and Spain seemed imminent after the Nootka incident. 45. Gray stayed there until he left Nootka Sound. 46. He apparently left the colony in July 1793 for Nootka Sound, Vancouver Island. 47.
