BBC1 was based at the purpose-built BBC Television Centre at White City, London between 1960 and 2013. 43. In 1974, the Blue Peter Garden was officially opened in a green space outside the Television Centre restaurant block. 44. The show is currently recorded at Pinewood Studios, previously at BBC Television Centre , typically the day before transmission. 45. In March 2013 the BBC vacated Television Centre ( TVC ) in West London, requiring strategic relocation of operations. 46.
