1. This depolarization opens some abnormally slow heart rhythms, or asystole . 2. Also, ventricular fibrillation frequently occurs below and asystole below. 3. In extreme cases, such as asystole , cardiopulmonary resuscitation may be required. 4. The fibrillation in the heart decreases over time, and will eventually reach asystole . 5. The first surgery was halted when the patient experienced asystole ( " flatline " ). 6. Asystole may be treated with 1 mg epinephrine by IV every 3 5 minutes as needed.7. The most common procedure for accomplishing asystole is infusing cold cardioplegic solution into the coronary circulation. 8. As in asystole , the prognosis for a patient presenting with this rhythm is very poor. 9. The potential for these contraindications and drug-drug interaction could lead to asystole and cardiac arrest. 10. There is a slight chance of the rate dropping to zero, or flatline ( asystole ).
