1. The bleachery became the longest running textile operation in Somersworth. 2. It includes the previously-listed Bleachery Water Treatment Plant. 3. For many years, there was a bleachery owned by the Chadwick Family. 4. Jewell and Bowen also built the Crystal Springs Bleachery Company ( in 1909 ). 5. In 1909, the Garner Print Works were sold and became the Dutchess Bleachery . 6. The largest was the Newburgh Bleachery , owned and operated by the Chadwick Family. 7. Cone Mills Corporation in 1952 purchased the Union Bleachery of Greenville, South Carolina. 8. By about 1906, the bleachery had a capacity of 50 tons per day. 9. The bleachery mills were soon constructed from native Fall River granite found on the site. 10. On March 24, 2006, the remaining portion of the Towel Distribution Center and the Bleachery were imploded.
