The family Droseraceae is part of the order Caryophyllales in the clade core eudicots. 4. The others are Gunnerales, Dilleniaceae, Rosids, Santalales, Berberidopsidales, Caryophyllales , and asterids. 5. The APG favours much larger orders and families, and the order Caryophyllales " sensu" 6. In these systems the order is placed close to the order Caryophyllales ( or its predecessor Centrospermae ). 7. Systematists are undecided on whether Caryophyllales should be placed within the rosid complex or sister to the asterid clade. 8. These two suborders were formerly ( and sometimes still are ) recognized as two orders, Polygonales and Caryophyllales . 9. The 2009 APG III system assigned the first two families to the order Caryophyllales and the last family to the order Ericales. 10. A relationship with Caryophyllales , was formerly suggested; but morphology ( S-plastids ) and chemistry are close to Geraniales.
