It is analogous to the classical mechanics concept of the free body diagram . 5. So picture a free body diagram of the cylinder. 6. In a completed free body diagram , the free body would be shown with forces acting on it. 7. The free body diagram on the right is for a projectile that experiences air resistance and the effects of gravity. 8. A free body diagram is constructed and the relevant relationships of force and velocity are formulated using techniques from continuum mechanics. 9. Or, in a free body diagram , one may similarly infer a sense of orientation by the forces or other vectors represented. 10. The second drawing is the loading diagram with the reaction values given without the calculations shown or what most people call a free body diagram .
