It usually contains unhealthy pale granulation tissue . 4. As granulation tissue matures, the fibroblasts produce less collagen and become more spindly in appearance. 5. "' Pannus "'is an abnormal layer of fibrovascular tissue or granulation tissue . 6. Histological findings include granulation tissue , microrupture, degenerative changes, and there is no traditional inflammation. 7. Occasionally acute osteomyelitis may be contained to a localized area and walled off by fibrous and granulation tissue . 8. Pancreatic pseudocysts are chronic collections of pancreatic fluid encased by a wall of nonepithelialized granulation tissue and fibrosis. 9. In the adjacent white matter there is severe edema, leaking from young capillaries in the granulation tissue . 10. Chronic ulcer symptoms usually include increasing pain, friable granulation tissue , foul odour, and wound breakdown instead of healing.
