1. Avoid peanut butters made with trans fats ( partially hydrogenated fats ). 2. Unlike more plebeian pork products, this lard won't contain preservatives or hydrogenated fats . 3. Toss out all potato chips, corn chips or snack foods with hydrogenated fat . 4. Only a portion of even pure partially hydrogenated fats would be actual trans fats. 5. But of course something with fully hydrogenated fats doesn't have to have interesterified fats. 6. Eat less : polyunsturated fats, hydrogenated fats , junk food. 7. Just be sure to pick one without hydrogenated fats . 8. Partially hydrogenated fats are softer than fully hydrogenated stuff. 9. Though peanut oil is monounsaturated fat, most commercially prepared peanut butters have hydrogenated fat added. 10. Hydrogenated fats are universally considered harmful mainly because of well known effect on cardiovascular risk factors.
