1. "' Kettle Valley  "'is a community in the Boundary Country region of the Greenwood. 2. Probably the most popular path in the valley, however, is the Kettle Valley  Railway. 3. The KVSR operates excursion trains over the only remaining section of the Kettle Valley  Railway. 4. Authorities moved to evacuate homes in southeastern Kelowna suburbs, including Okaview, Kettle Valley  and Uplands. 5. The Kettle Valley  Railway between Merritt and Midway was opened for service on May 31, 1915. 6. The trail uses a rail corridor that was originally built for the now-abandoned Kettle Valley  Railway. 7. In the years 1909 1915 the railways arrived, with the Kettle Valley  Railway ( later Great Northern. 8. Coalmont was also a junction on the Kettle Valley  Railway, whose roadbed is now the Trans-Canada Trail. 9. The area retains some remnants of the Kettle Valley  Railway which travelled this route from early 1900s until 1961. 10. In 1991, " Naramata " was sold to the Kettle Valley  Railway Heritage Society and the City of Penticton.
