1. The anterior maxillary and mandibular teeth are longer than the posterior. 2. They have imperforated stapes and no inner mandibular teeth . 3. Also, the basal mandibular teeth are slightly larger and fewer in number. 4. Maxillary teeth 18-20, subequal; posterior mandibular teeth shorter than anterior. 5. The New Latin name " Lycodon " is derived from the mandibular teeth . 6. The incisal edges of the mandibular teeth can be smoothed to minimize the chance of trauma. 7. The vomerine teeth are triangular in shape, posterior mandibular teeth are set flat against edge of mandible. 8. Additionally, caries was mostly found on the second and third molars in both maxillary and mandibular teeth . 9. There are 32 permanent teeth and those of the maxillae erupt in a different order from permanent mandibular teeth . 10. Premaxillary and mandibular teeth uniserial or irregular, occasionally with a few strong inner teeth ( Sublette et al . 1990 ).
