Fully mature " Pterodactylus " specimens remain unknown, or may have been mistakenly classified as a different genus. 7. Dimorphodontia would include all pterosaurs more closely related to " Dimorphodon " than to " Pterodactylus ". 8. An additional large specimen, originally named " Pterodactylus macrurus ", is known from the Purbeck Limestone formation of England. 10. However, at the time, many scientists incorrectly considered " Ornithocephalus " to be the valid name for " Pterodactylus ".
