1. The trigonid is longer in the p4 than in the molars. 2. The protoconid is the highest cusp of the trigonid . 3. It shows a short trigonid and a distinct entoconid. 4. The trigonid contains strong protoconid and metaconid cusps. 5. A crest, the cristid obliqua, reaches from the hypoconid forward towards the trigonid . 6. Part of the trigonid is broken off. 7. In modern tribosphenic molars, the trigonid is towards the front of the jaw and the talonid towards the rear. 8. The talonid contains a hypoconid, hypoconulid, and entoconid and is much wider than the trigonid because the hypoconid is displaced buccally. 9. The three cusps form a right angle with each other at the protoconid, so that the trigonid is described as " open ". 10. The p4 and molars have a distinct trigonid ( a triangular group of cusps at the front of a tribosphenic tooth ) and talonid.
