The antihypertensive effects of methyldopa, mecamylamine, reserpine and veratrum alkaloids may be reduced by sympathomimetics. 4. It is primarily obtained from the herb " Veratrum " and Ca 2 + concentration. 5. Skunk cabbage thrives in this squishy floodland, and so do spring ephemerals, like claytonia or veratrum . 6. Sneezing powders containing " Veratrum album " alkaloids have been linked to poisoning, including low blood pressure. 7. "Veratrum nigrum " blooms in early summer for several weeks, but goes dormant in intense summer heat. 8. They are closely related to " Veratrum ", and in fact are included in that genus by some authors. 9.
