1. The ancestors of the alveolate group may have been photosynthetic. 2. These superficially dissimilar groups make up the alveolates . 3. The ancestral alveolate probably possessed a plastid. 4. The presence of alveoli and other traits place the Apicomplexa among a group called the alveolates . 5. Both the nucleus and the plastid of " C . velia " showed alveolate ancestry. 6. Myzocytosis is found in Myzozoa and also in some species of Ciliophora ( both comprise the alveolates ). 7. They are smooth to faintly alveolate ( i . e . with a honeycombed surface ) with a mealy texture. 8. The actual mitochondria, by contrast, were found to be small and multiple, just as for other alveolates . 9. "' Chromatorida "'was an order of pigmented intraerythrocytic parasitic alveolates created by Jacques Euzby in 1988. 10. He has proposed placing them in a separate kingdom, the Chromalveolata, together with the haptophytes, cryptomonads, and alveolates .
