1. Antigorite contains water in its structure, about 13 percent by weight.2. Antigorite and lizardite are the polymorphs with platy habit.3. Gymnite is an amorphous form of antigorite . 4. Antigorite Serpentine is another important water bearing phase that breaks down at eclogite facies conditions.5. The axe blade is 17.4 cm long and made of antigorite , mined in the Gotthard-area. 8. Barbertonite has a close association with stichtite, chromite, and antigorite ( Taylor et al ., 1973 ). 9. Williamsite is a local varietal name for antigorite that is oil-green with black crystals of chromite or magnetite often included. 10. Antigorite breaks down at 600-700 �C and between 2-5 GPa . Antigorite contains 13 wt . % water and therefore causes substantial mantle melting.
