1. Middle leaves have 5 leaflets, upper leaves have 3 leaflets . auriculate . 2. The foot is large and anteriorly auriculated . 3. The aperture of a snail shell can have many other forms : semicircular, trilobate or auriculate . 4. The cauline leaves are much reduced and are short petiolate to sessile but not auriculate -clasping. 5. At the junction of the blade and sheath there are ear-shaped ( auriculate ) outgrowths. 6. The blades are oval and auriculate ( with an earlobe-shaped lobe on either side of the petiole ). 7. Axillary leaves of " Selaginella galeottii " are rarely auriculate and if they are present they are inconspicuous. 8. There are small " ears " at the junction of the blade and sheath ( i . e . the leaf is somewhat auriculate ). 9. It is differentiated by other members of " Boechera " by its auriculate -clasping leaves, short white petals, and glaucous stem. 10. The leaves are auriculate ( ear-shaped ), up to 5 centimeters long by 1.5 wide, and have toothed or lobed edges.
