1. The taxonomic placement of " Avicennia " is contentious. 2. Rhizophora and Avicennia species would be planted in the area instead. 3. The Avicennia officinalis and Sonneratia alba are among the main plant species. 4. It is surrounded by mangroves, particularly Avicennia . 5. The lagoon has extensive mudflats, seagrass beds and mangrove swamps, particularly Avicennia . 6. Species of " Avicennia " occur worldwide south of the Tropic of Cancer. 7. Avicennia marina is the conqueror of the forest which is found as a single dominant species.8. Small area of mangroves, Avicennia marina and Ceriops tagal, are found on the island. 9. The most common type of mangrove found on the island is the Avicennia rumphiana ( bungalon ). 10. These and Indus River Delta support mangrove forestry, mainly of species " Avicennia marina ".
