1. Above the calcarenite is 6 m of fossiliferous, banded calcisiltite. 2. Calcarenite quarries were also opened with stone being exported to Tunisia and Libya.3. The marine sediment consists of calcarenite and limestone rocks. 4. Remnants of this eroded calcarenite dune are still visible in the surrounding coastal landscape. 5. Calcarenite is the carbonate equivalent of a sandstone.6. Overlying this is 5 to 6 m of fragmental calcarenite containing abundant crinoid columnals. 7. Lava flows dominate the lithology of the main body, with a small proportion of calcarenite . 8. Unweathered sections of the Gogo Formation are made of siltstone, shale and calcarenite with numerous limestone concretions. 9. The beach is mostly backed by scarped calcarenite bluffs to the east and unstable dunes to the west. 10. Rising to a height of 26 m, its vegetation is dominated by African boxthorn on clay and calcarenite soils.
