1. The lagging chromatid is excluded from both nuclei and is lost. 2. Progression from metaphase to anaphase is marked by sister chromatid separation. 3. Both the original and the newly copied DNA are now called chromatids . 4. One of these cohesin proteins crucial for sister chromatid cohesion is Scc1. 5. Active separase can then cleave Scc1 for release of the sister chromatids . 6. Only two of the four chromatids are involved in any particular crossover. 7. The cohesin multiprotein complex is required for sister chromatid cohesion. 8. During normal mitosis, sister chromatids separate into two identical daughter cells. 9. The sister chromatids can then be pulled to separate locations in the cell. 10. The microtubules then contract to pull the sister chromatids of each chromosome apart.
