1. The first Seattle Decumanus says it was " fantastic ". 2. The Decumanus Maximus ran parallel to Emir Bashir Street. 3. Broad stairs rose up to portico from the Decumanus . 4. Jean Lauffray, the French archeologist, revealed that Rue Weygand followed the ancient decumanus . 5. The decumanus , the main thoroughfare, crosses the forum with its trio of beautiful temples. 6. The Romans built a monumental gate which still survives at the eastern end of Decumanus Maximus. 7. The colony developed around a central street ( decumanus ), cut perpendicularly by minor streets. 8. Along the main decumanus , which coincides with the modern valley road, the forum can be distinguished. 9. The Forum was normally located at, or close to, the intersection of the Decumanus and the Cardo. 10. In Roman times, these 3 streets formed the Decumanus of Florentina, the name of the Roman colonia.
