1. Ratna Pala after fortifying this city called it Sri-Durjaya . 2. Dynasty ruled from its capital Durjaya , modern-day North Guwahati. 3. The identification of Sri-Durjaya with Guwahati is therefore almost inevitable. 4. Ancient cities Pragjyotishpura and Durjaya were located in modern Kamrup. 5. Paruchuri Kethi Nayakudu claimed Durjaya / Kondapadamati Budhavarma lineage. 6. Their title " Chalamartiganda " shows that they belonged to Durjaya clan and Vallutla Gothra. 7. One of them, Rajendra Choda II had even assumed the title Durjayakulaprakara since Velanati Cholas belong to Durjaya clans. 8. They belonged to the Durjaya family, so they were also called as " Durjayas of Velanadu ". 9. The original capital of this dynasty was Hadapeshvara, and was shifted to Durjaya built by Ratnapala, near modern Guwahati. 10. A very glowing account is given of the splendour and the strength of the fortifications of Ratna Pala's capital named Durjaya .
