1. The floor of the amniotic cavity is formed by the epiblast . 2. In general, all germ layers will derive from the epiblast . 3. These cells are also derived from epiblast which is transformed into ectoderm. 4. The epiblast layer is derived from the inner cell mass. 5. The inner cell mass initially has two layers : the hypoblast and epiblast . 6. Epiblast migrates between the epiblastic disc and trophoblast.7. Inactivation occurs in the epiblast during gastrulation, which gives rise to the embryo. 8. The primitive streak develops from Koller s sickle and the epiblast of the avian embryo. 9. The epiblast forms the floor of the amniotic cavity and is continuous peripherally with the amnion. 10. In chicken and mouse, Vg1 and Nodal respectively promote primitive streak formation in the epiblast .
