1. Eryopoids include larger temnospondyls like " Eryops ". 2. These trackways include prints of Dimetrodon, Edaphosaurus, Eryops , Cacops and many other small pelycosaurs. 3. The skeleton of " Eryops " was much more strongly built and sturdy than related temnospondyls. 4. The texture of " Eryops " skin was revealed by a fossilized " mummy " described in 1941. 5. Sturdy piscine inner ear, allowing " Eryops " to amplify, and so better sense, airborne sound. 6. Disarticulated remains of Eryops , Diasparactus, and Ophiacodon from the Ada Formation represent the first finds of these genera in Oklahoma. 7. Several complete skeletons of " Eryops " have been found in lower Permian rocks, but skull bones and teeth are its most common fossils. 8. In phylogenetic terms, Limnarchia is a stem-based taxon including all temnospondyls more closely related to " Parotosuchus " than to " Eryops ". 9. It is the sister group of the clade Euskelia, which is all temnospondyls more closely related to " Eryops " than to " Parotosuchus ". 10. Other temnospondyls, such as " Eryops ", have been found with small, disc-like bony scutes that were in life probably embedded in the skin.
