1. Halanaerobiales are halophilic obligate anaerobes with a fermentative or homoacetogenic metabolism. 2. They are not spore forming, strictly aerobic and not fermentative . 3. This disproportionation reaction is catalysed by methanogen archaea in their fermentative metabolism. 4. Several potential causes for the decline in fermentative activity have been investigated. 5. Photo fermentative bacteria are able to generate hydrogen from VFAs. 6. NADH eliminates potentially toxic hydrogen peroxide under fermentative metabolism of this organism. 7. Most facultatively fermentative yeast species cannot grow in the complete absence of oxygen. 8. Not all fermentative organisms use substrate-level phosphorylation. 9. Most of the fermentative substrates are organic molecules. 10. It is gliding, rod-like and facultatively anaerobic with a fermentative metabolism.
