1. It consists almost entirely of granodiorite with large crystals of orthoclase . 2. The main minerals are quartz, perthitic orthoclase , and plagioclase. 3. The presence of orthoclase indicates a petrogenetic difference with nepheline gabbros. 4. Most intrusions of this age are heavily sheared orthoclase porphyroclastic granites. 5. It contains also orthoclase , nepheline, biotite, aegirine, acmite. 6. Microxenocrysts of orthoclase likely exist in andesite at Ring Mountain. 7. Orthoclase crystals are found occasionally and they likely represent xenocrysts.8. Enormous crystals of orthoclase were common, some over five feet in diameter. 9. The largest documented single crystal of orthoclase was found in Ural mountains, Russia. 10. Typically the host grain is orthoclase or microcline, and the lamellae are albite.
