1. The age of this animal is therefore Thanetian ( late Palaeocene ). 2. Up to of Palaeocene and Eocene sediments were deposited in the basin. 3. Modern mammalian orders appeared in the Palaeocene and Eocene epochs of the Palaeogene period. 4. The site is late Palaeocene and early Eocene 50 to 60 million years ago. 5. The site has sedimentary rocks of Palaeocene age. 6. They are related to carnivorans, and lived from the early Palaeocene to the Eocene. 7. Everest contains two main reservoirs : the Palaeocene Forties sandstone and the deeper Paleocene Andrew sandstone. 8. Species have been reported from the Palaeocene and Late Cretaceous, but these likely belong in other genera. 9. To the south and east of the village this is overlain by Palaeocene sands and clays of the Lambeth Group. 10. A smaller outcrop of Palaeocene and Eocene deposits occurs in a small syncline to the south-east of Salisbury.
