1. Visscher was well known for his discoveries in the protozoology field. 2. He continued research on protozoology , concentrating on trichomonads and kinetoplastids. 3. While at Agnes Scott, MacDougall studied protozoology and cytology. 4. From 1993 until 1996, he was President of the Belgian Society of Protozoology . 5. On his retirement he was appointed Professor of Medical Protozoology at the University of London. 6. He has received the S . H . Hutner Award for Research Contributions to Protozoology ( 2004 ). 7. Lloyd, his first advanced student ( and later to be his Reader in Entomology and Protozoology ). 8.
