Steroid saponins are produced commercially from " Yucca schidigera ". 4. The drupes ( soapnuts ) contain saponins which are a natural surfactant. 5. Chemical substances in this species include saponins , flavonoids, and glucosinolates. 6. The plant contains toxic saponins , but not enough to be harmful. 7. Protocyanidins, flavonols, saponins , sapogenins, and ellagic acid are absent. 8. Quil A is still a mixture of more than 25 different saponin molecules. 9. The effect is supposed to depend on up to 17 % saponin content. 10. This suggests that some properties of saponin foams are comparable to synthetic foams.
