1. To my eye, it looks like just sandstone or arkose . 2. The resulting Cutler red beds are made of iron-rich arkose sandstone. 3. Minor basalt flows occur within the Arkose Ridge Formation. 4. Arkose is typically grey to reddish in colour.5. The Arapahoe Formation and the Dawson Arkose are also included in the D1 Sequence. 6. The Denver Formation and the Dawson Arkose are also included in the D1 Sequence. 7. Metamorphic rocks of slate, schist and arkose dominate the northern part of the island. 8. It is overlain by the Dawson Arkose . 9. This suite consists of metamorphosed siltstone, wacke, conglomerate, arkose , and minor rhyolite. 10. The similar mineral composition of the Mutitjulu Arkose and the granite ranges to the south is now explained.
