1. "Ligdia adustata " has two generations per year ( bivoltine species ). 2. However, they are unlikely to be bivoltine ( producing two broods in one season ). 3. The second type is called bivoltine and is normally found in China, Japan, and Korea. 4. An environmental switch mechanism controls seasonal dimorphism observed in bivoltine species, or species having two broods per year. 5. It is probably at least partly bivoltine since adults have been found on wing in late summer and late autumn. 6. The imago ( moth ) is bivoltine ( depending on geographic location ) flying in May and June and again in August. 7. In Britain it is believed to be ( partly ) univoltine, but in the Netherlands and Sweden it is clearly bivoltine . 8. The bee species " Perdita portalis " is bivoltine , and is estimated to have about 2 or 3 broods annually. 9. The subspecies " Emesaya b . brevipennis " is the most widely distributed and is reported to be bivoltine in Southern Illinois. 10. The major groups of silkworms fall under the univoltine ('uni-' = one,'voltine'= brood frequency ) and bivoltine categories.
